DREAM WORK

In addition to offering psychotherapy to individuals, Elicia also reserves time each week to see those who wish to consult with her concerning single dreams or a dream series. Elicia has had a deep interest in her own dreams and the dreams of others since she was a child. As an undergraduate student she deepened her understanding of dream work and attended dream work classes at The Jung Center of Houston. Her studies of the practice of dream work continued at The Naropa Institute as well as at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, where she completed her Master's degree.

While her work with dreams has a decidedly Jungian slant, she avoids using any one method exclusively. She does not interpret dreams and instead guides the dreamer through a process of identifying symbols and characters for meaning and association. Over the last fifteen years she has worked with hundreds of dreams-her own, clients', and the dreams of friends and family members. Elicia considers her work with dreams to be one of the most exciting aspects of psychotherapy because she believes that within every dream is a unique world containing layers of information to the seeker willing to explore their psyche.

For those interested in consulting with Elicia about dreams, she currently offers an initial consultation for the reduced rate of twenty-five dollars (her standard fee for dream work sessions is fifty dollars, and she offers a sliding scale for those who qualify). The initial consultation includes a brief introduction to dream work and a description of some basic exercises that can help individuals develop an ongoing relationship to their dream life. Sessions are typically fifty minutes long and you must be able to come to her office in Boulder, Colorado. She will do dream work over the phone after one or two initial sessions in her office. Elicia is also available for meeting with groups to present information about basic dream work techniques and the benefits of these practices.

If you are interested in learning more about her style of dream work, you can read Elicia’s blog entry, A Dream Primer, or contact her via email.
